Christian Galilee tour
The town of Nazareth, known as the Town of Jesus bears a great importance in the Christian world. The reason of this significance is that the Holy Family was dwelling in this town.
The family of Jesus
Joseph, his father was a descendant of King David. His mother Mary, according to the tradition was born to the previously childless parents, Joachim and Anna.
Anna, the parallel of Hanna (the mother of Samuel the prophet) vowed that if she would conceive, the child to be born would be destined to serve in the Temple. Mary was born and later sent to serve in the Temple.
When she came of age her engagement to Joseph has been arranged.
The Annunciation of Archangel Gabriel
Before the marriage the Archangel Gabriel announced Mary near the fountain of her conception and that the child to be born would be a son.
It was the time of census of the population and the couple went to Bethlehem in order to be polled. On their arrival Mary went into labor and Jesus was born in a manger.
The rumor about the birth of a special child reached King Herod’s ear and he ordered the child to be killed. The family fled to Egypt and stayed there until his death.
The early life of Jesus
After the king’s death the family returned to their hometown, Nazareth. There are very few findings or literature about the life of Jesus before his emergence apart from sporadic events.
The first mention is actually his reaching the age of bar-mitzvah when he was taken to Jerusalem. In Jerusalem he entered profound theological and philosophical debate with scholars.
The wedding in Cana
The second mention is about the wedding in Cana. It was here where his ability to work wonders has been revealed. He turned the water in the barrel into wine,
The renewing of vows in the local church can be arranged. A document testifying this act would be issued.
The third mention is the event that led to his expulsion from his residential town. He used to pray in the local synagogue and enter into theological disputes. There were no answers to his theses, so they decided to kill him.
The Mount of Precipice
The decision was to throw him off of the mountain that is called the Mount Precipice. Jesus has been saved but, but he left Nazareth and never returned. He moved his domain to the area of the Sea of Galilee.
